Aarhusiansk softwarefirma købt for op mod en halv milliard

Den aarhusianske softwarevirksomhed CLC Bio er blevet opkøbt af den hollandsk/tyske koncern Qiagen for et større millionbeløb. Det fremgår af en pressemeddelelse på firmaets hjemmeside.

Det jyske softwarehus beskæftiger 100 medarbejdere, og ifølge Børsen planlægger Qiagen gøre det danske hovedkvarter til et såkaldt Center of Exellence og bringe flere vidensbaserede arbejdspladser til den jyske hovedstad.

CLC Bio oplyser ikke deres købspris, men Børsen anslår at prisen er mellem 100 og 500 millioner kroner – og tættest på 500 millioner.

Således forgyldes stifterne af den aahusianske virksomhed, der tidligere har gjort sig bemærket ved at mene, at koden bag deres software er så kompliceret, at de ikke finder det nødvendigt at bruge tid på patenter.

QIAGEN: ADDITION OF CLC BIO BUILDS LEADERSHIP IN BIOLOGICAL ANALYSIS

QIAGEN recently acquired CLC bio, a global leader in bioinformatics software with a focus on next-generation sequencing (NGS). This acquisition enables QIAGEN to create a complete workflow from biological sample to valuable molecular insights.
